How to Read for Free during Quarantine
So- it’s a little harder to get out of the house these days and go book hunting. All of my favorite bookstores are closed and this makes me incredibly sad. I don’t know about you but I am all about the instant gratification of receiving a new book. So where do we find the books!? What if I told you I have found several options for receiving free books immediately….
1. The “Books” App on iPhone. Most of the books are $4.99 or less. There is also a “Free” section where you can download the book directly to your phone through the app.
2. If you are an Amazon Prime member and you have a Kindle/Kindle App – Open your Amazon account and search for the tab “my prime benefits” then select “read” and then it should take you to “prime reading” There are a lot of free and popular titles you can immediately download. You can also sign up for “Amazon First Reads” where you will receive an e-mail monthly that allows you to download one free book from new and upcoming authors.
3. If you have an active library card- you can download the “Libby” App and borrow books through the app. You can download the book through the app and read or download to your kindle device.
As always I will update the blog with new ideas for downloading books at great discounts! I also encourage you to shop from your local bookstore! Many bookstores are offering the option to shop books through their online catalogs and ship directly to your house.
Happy Reading!
